I don’t consider myself knowledgeable in many things, but music is one area I seem to know a lot about. I seem to retain really useless music trivia, which doesn’t really come in handy very often. I can’t name every country in the Middle East, but I can tell you how much Nirvana’s “Bleach” was recorded for. ($606.17, in case you were wondering.) It’s stupid, really.
Back in high school, I had a friend who would give me two artists or bands before Economics class, and I’d have the entire period to come up with ways they were connected. After class, we’d meet up and I’d give him my results. I was never stumped. I also didn’t fail Economics, surprisingly.
Anyway, I found an awesome link. It’s basically a generator where you type in two bands or artists and it will tell you how they’re connected. It’s unbelievable. It’s like having Matt Pinfield in a computer database, and I’ve been nerding out over it ever since.
It’s called the Six Degrees of Black Sabbath. It rocks my world.
